Study Exploring Communication with Parents and Health Care Providers
Has your child been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the last 12 months?
We are looking for parents whose child has been diagnosed with ASD in the last 12 months. We are conducting a study to learn more about parents’ experiences communicating with health care providers during the time when their child was first identified with developmental concerns to when their child was diagnosed with ASD.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- are the parent of a child between the ages of 18 months-6 years who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the last 12 months.
- are 18 years or older.
- speak English.
- are willing to be interviewed via phone or through videoconferencing. To interview via videoconferencing, you must have access to a computer with one of the following videoconferencing technologies: FaceTime, Google Hangouts, or Skype. The computer requires video and microphone capabilities and a high-speed internet connection.
If you are interested and eligible to participate in this study, we will ask you to:
- participate in one interview (via phone or video-conferencing) that will last for about 30-60 minutes.
- complete a short, online survey that will take about 10-15 minutes.
Participants who complete the interview and the survey will receive a $50 electronic Amazon gift card.
Please feel free to share this posting with other families you think might be interested in participating in the study.
