Wearing a mask social narrative for support during COVID-19
Wearing a cloth or paper mask isn’t something that feels natural. Due to regulations set by the state and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) during this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 pandemic, many community businesses are requiring patrons to wear masks for the safety of workers and other shop, restaurant, and other business visitors. The AuSM education team developed a social narrative to help individuals with autism and other sensory sensitivities understand the mask-wearing requirement and to assist with preparing for wearing a mask in public.
