Autism Mentorship Program (AMP)

amplogoWEBThe Autism Mentorship Program (AMP), a unique mentoring concept, pairs autistic youth and adults in meaningful, one-to-one, mentoring relationships designed to provide support for the present and hope for the future.

AMP is a pilot project supported by the Autism Society of Minnesota and driven by a steering committee including autistic individuals, parents and caretakers of autistic youth, Minnesota Independence College & Community (MICC) staff, Bloomington Public Schools’ special education staff, an advisor from MENTOR Minnesota and University of Minnesota academic partners from the Department of Family Social Science and Division of Clinical Behavioral Neuroscience.

AMP will launch it’s pilot program during the 2018-2019 school year at Bloomington Kennedy High School. All mentors for this pilot will be chosen from current students and alumni of MICC.

It is expected that the program will expand for the 2019-2020 school year based upon the findings from the pilot.
