AuSM is currently looking for breakout speakers for the conference! Breakout sessions last one hour each, and will be scheduled by our conference selection committee at a time during the conference.

We are looking for high quality proposals that include practical strategies, community building, and the latest information addressing a range of issues facing autistic individuals and their communities. Our goal is to provide relevant information for attendees at all levels, including those who are new to autism and those who have years of experience. The attendees at our conference cover a wide range of people including autistic individuals, family members, educators, therapists, professionals, and more.

AuSM accepts proposals from anyone with expertise in autism. Expertise is not necessarily formal education: it can come from lived experience, work, community organizing, or other sources.

We accept proposals on any topic related to autism. We are specifically looking for presentations related to the following topics, which our community has shared are of interest:

  • Early childhood
  • Literacy strategies
  • Strategies for parents, educators, and clinicians
  • Housing
  • Transition from school to adulthood

  • Non-speaking communication or AAC
  • Racial or cultural diversity intersections
  • Aging and autism
  • Sensory needs
  • Current research
