Volunteer

A table at Steps for Autism with swag bags. AuSM volunteers are passing them out to attendeesAs a nonprofit organization with need-informed goals, zero state funding, and nominal staff, AuSM relies on community gifts of time, talent, and treasure to fulfill its mission.

Supporting AuSM supports people with autism in Minnesota. We invite you to consider three things as you think about how to engage with AuSM:

TRUST: AuSM has been serving the local autism community for more than 50 years, working with the community to provide resources that directly address needs and help individuals and families thrive. Financial transparency and clear communication are paramount. Your trust is valuable and supports a strong connection.

GENEROSITY: While financial support is important for sustainability, it is not the only way to be generous. Thinking about what you can do to support efforts – who are your connections; how can you reach people and inform; are there dollars available for contribution through employee match programs, regular personal giving, or in connected foundations/trusts; what programs and services are important to you – can help guide your generosity in ways that will bring you the greatest fulfillment.

GRATITUDE: Life is busy. Finding a way to make an impact on causes that are important to you can feel overwhelming. AuSM has a variety of opportunities for connection so you can choose your way to be involved. Offerings of time, talent, and treasure are equally important in fulfilling AuSM’s mission of service, and we are grateful for support in all ways. We also appreciate the gratitude that giving can generate in you. We want you to feel good about giving.

If you would like to donate your time to the Autism Society of Minnesota, we have a variety of ways you can help. Many of AuSM’s volunteer opportunities are connected to acceptance and fundraising events including Steps for Autism in Minnesota, our annual state conference, the AuSM Jigsaw Puzzle Competition, special in-office projects, and more.
