Data Privacy Policy

(updated 5/12/20)

The Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM) places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate AuSM’s commitment to the privacy of our members; donors; event, class, and camp participants; community members; website users; and social media followers.

What Personally Identifiable Information Is Collected
AuSM members and community members who sign up to receive AuSM e-communications voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and email address). We may use this information for specific, limited purposes. You may always “opt out,” either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages.

IP Addresses
AuSM uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer www.ausm.org, and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

How Your Information May Be Used
We use your personal information to provide you with personalized service; to send email to you; to answer your requests; to process your membership application; to send direct mail to you, etc. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease communication from AuSM.

We also may use your information to track website visitors. This lets us see which of our features are the most popular so we can better serve our users’ needs. It also lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example).

AuSM will not sell, trade, or share your personal information collected on the website nor through any other business activities with anyone else. We will only share your personal information if you give us specific permission to do so. We will collect payment information, billing address, and other information necessary to process a donation, event, class, or camp registration. We will use personal information to protect against potential fraud. You have the right to review information that we have collected about you.

Email Privacy
AuSM does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization.

Online Security
We place security measures on our website to protect any loss, misuse, or change of the information that is under our control. Such security measures include firewalls, access restrictions and password protection. We treat all information we receive from you through the forms on our website and email as confidential. However, email links on our website do not provide a means for completely secure and private communications between us. Your emails may be accessed and viewed without your knowledge or permission while in transit to us. If you wish to keep private the information you send to us, please do not use email links. Instead, please contact us by phone at 651.647.1083.

External Links
AuSM’s website, www.ausm.org, includes links to external websites. These links do not fall under the www.ausm.org domain, and AuSM is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

Privacy Policy Modifications
We maintain the option to modify this privacy policy at any time. Your continued sharing of your information through registration, signing up for communication, and use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms. If you have concerns about AuSM’s Privacy Policy, contact AuSM at 651.647.1083 or email info@ausm.org.

Donation and Registration Software Vendor Privacy Policies
Neither donations nor registrations are processed through the AuSM website, www.ausm.org. Neither AuSM nor any of it’s registration processors store credit card information. AuSM requires a password for annual state autism conference participants to access conference handouts posted on AuSM’s website. AuSM does not collect personal information or data through AuSM’s website for those users who access the conference handouts.

Donations to AuSM and some registrations for classes and events are processed through Gravity Form’s encrypted pages. Review the Gravity Forms Privacy Statement.

AuSM receives donations through GiveMN during its Give to the Max Day annual giving campaign and during other times throughout the year. Review GiveMN’s Privacy Policy.

AuSM uses CiviCRM to manage e-newsletter and e-mail lists for those wanting additional information from AuSM. Civi CRM also is used to manage data and donations. Review Civi CRM’s Privacy Policies.
