Community Fundraisers

You can help create the autism community in Minnesota by supporting AuSM as a fundraiser. Celebrate your birthday with donations, host a run or walk, plan an event, or create something entirely new to fundraise for AuSM.

What Is Community Fundraising?

A group of disability advocates poses in the AuSM officeAny time someone outside of AuSM raises money on behalf of AuSM, it’s a community fundraiser. If that sounds like it covers a lot of situations, that’s because it does! You can create a fundraiser that is a huge event or one that is a simple online fundraising page: whatever works for you! Here are some of our favorite examples:

  • Birthday fundraiser
  • Sports event or tournament
  • Bake sale
  • Car wash
  • Bingo night
  • Employee giving drive
  • Golf tournament
  • Plant/flower sale

If you have questions and would like to talk with someone at AuSM, please call 651.647.1083 or email Thank you for your generosity and support.

Types of Community Fundraisers

Crowdfunding Campaign

If you’re looking for the easiest way to raise money, this is it! Set up a donation page, tell the world why you love AuSM, and watch donations come in. This is great for birthdays and events that don’t have an in-person component. To create one today, click here.

Time commitment: lowest

Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser

If you like the idea of setting up an online donation page, but you want to involve your friends, family members, coworkers, or another group, you might want to create a peer-to-peer campaign. This allows multiple people to create their own donation pages and fundraise together. Peer-to-peer fundraising works well for activities like walk-a-thons, challenges, or group projects.

Time commitment: medium

Fundraising Event

An event is exactly what it sounds like, and there are endless ways you can use an event to raise money. You can raise money through ticket sales, sponsorships, direct donations, or activities. One of the best parts of events is that you can combine them with almost any other fundraising option.

Time commitment: high

3rd Party Vendor Consultants Policy

The Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM) receives multiple partnership/fundraising requests from third party vendor consultants. While we are grateful that third party consultants are spreading autism awareness and possibly sharing some of the profits with AuSM, AuSM’s policy for third party vendors is as follows:

AuSM cannot promote third party vendor consultant projects/fundraisers. If a third party consultant is interested in holding a fundraiser for AuSM, though AuSM cannot promote the fundraiser, AuSM will publicly thank the business/third party consultant through AuSM’s social media channels and the AuSM website after receipt of the fundraiser donation.

Donate to AuSM

Autism Society of Minnesota supporters sustain the work that has helped so many in the Minnesota autism community. AuSM’s drive for continuing this work is strong – we constantly look for ways to serve you even better. Your donation makes this work possible: you are creating a better state for autistics in Minnesota.
