This presentation discusses how to recognize Autism, Giftedness, and the combination of the two; common difficulties these particular twice exceptional (2e) individuals come to therapy with; ways to empower and support them in therapy (and self-checks for therapists to ensure they catch their own neurotypically informed biases or assumptions); and some tips for these 2e individuals to find and navigate a therapeutic relationship. It is presented from the perspective of a therapist with research and assessment experience woven in.
