Pathways for BIPOC Families: New Resources and Connections
In 2025, AuSM was selected by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Disability Services Division, to expand our equity-focused work supporting families of autistic children. With this support, AuSM is building Pathways for BIPOC Families, a new initiative designed to reduce cultural barriers and ensure that families in Minnesota’s Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities have access to resources, education, and community connection.
Through this initiative, we are collaborating with Twin Cities–based organizations that serve Black families and parents of Black autistic children. Together, we are working to advance strategies that increase awareness, strengthen support, and celebrate the diverse lived experiences within Minnesota’s autism community.
