It Starts With Us

It Starts With Us

In this session, Zoe will share lessons from their work as an educator at Lionsgate Academy, a school designed for students on the autism spectrum, where they’ve seen firsthand how even small acts of authenticity and care can transform a community.

Participants will explore:

  • Everyday strategies for showing up for each other, from simple gestures to larger acts of advocacy.
  • How autistic people in roles of support and leadership can reshape our communities.
  • The power of self-advocacy and authenticity—how stimming openly, unmasking, and naming your needs can open the door for others to do the same.

This session emphasizes that you are not a burden, and that every person—regardless of support needs—has the ability to strengthen their community. Together, we’ll look at how fostering mutual care reduces isolation, builds resilience, and helps us create the collective, affirming world we want to live in.
