I Am Alive and So Are You by Ansel Langmead
Artist Statement
acrylic on canvas, 2021
This piece is celebration of life and light. I painted it as a reaction to multiple family members passing away within a year. Grief can be paralyzing, and I wanted to remind myself of the breath and movement one can find in a beam of sunshine or a shimmering fish. I chose the title as a conversation with the viewer, to encourage us to recognize each others humanity.

“So, how do you like your new headphones?” by Sheila Moore, 2024
Artist’s Biography
In the palette of my mind, Autism, ADHD, Synesthesia, and Auditory Processing Disorder blend to form an ever-shifting mosaic of visual language more natural, to me, than words. I navigate my multi-sensory reality through vivid pictures, colors, textures, shapes, and sounds. My neurotype adds complexity to my interaction with language, but it also inspires me to communicate creatively. I am learning to translate my experiences with the assistance of AI, and I am profoundly grateful to all of the exceptional artists whose work makes it possible for me to express my thoughts authentically. My current goal is to forge a career path that utilizes my Autistic attributes and professional background to make meaningful contributions in both the workplace and community. Additionally, I am open to commissioned projects and opportunities to support and advocate for the neurodivergent community.

Spring by L. Cooper
Artist’s Biography
Working mostly in watercolor, Lauren is an on-again, off-again artist living in the Twin Cities. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a major in graphic design as she didn’t like the term ‘starving artist’ but wanted to be a part of the field of art in some way. Through school she learned that having illustrated elements as a part of a design was a successful way to finish a project while adding a little something special. She lives with a highly curious cat who must be monitored at all times when paint is on a palette, lest he leave paint paw prints all over the house when his owner’s back is turned (the rug fared shockingly well).
