Accounting for Advocacy
When you are neurodivergent or have neurodivergent folks you care about, advocacy is a constant in your life. Getting what you need for yourself or for those you care about can be exhausting, infuriating, but also extremely rewarding and necessary. In this presentation, I will share my own journey through advocacy as both a parent of autistic kiddos and a therapist helping autistic adults unmask and learn to advocate for themselves. We will discuss strategies for effective advocacy, managing and accounting for the cost of advocacy, and learn how to make advocacy a sustainable part of your life.
