Self-determination is much more than an individual having choice and agency in their own lives. As important as agency may be for the individual, self-determination for autistic people is a collective effort seeking justice for every autistic person. In the same way no individual can achieve self-determination on their own, no community can achieve justice through the work of just one organization. Collective impact strategy is a research-validated approach to reform that empowers individuals, groups, and organizations to work together to achieve reforms that would be out of reach on their own.
