Dr. Jaime Ascencio works as a Licensed Psychologist, a tenure-track Assistant Professor, and a Registered Horticultural Therapist. Clinically, she works most often with neurodivergent (particularly autistic and gifted) individuals in individual therapy. Historically, she has also provided assessments and group therapy both broadly and with a specific emphasis on autism. Dr. Ascencio identifies as gifted and a multipotentialite, allowing her an “insider’s view” to the experience of neurodivergence. Outside of work, she enjoys silly games with her toddler and husband, info-dumping about her new aquarium, and transforming her rented home’s tiny yard into a native plant oasis.
