Thousands of young children with autism are waiting for intensive early intervention services. Therapist delivered (e.g ABA) services cannot meet the need. Parent Implemented Models that use a Developmental and Relationship-Based (PIM DRB) approach empower families to provide intensive intervention and offer a public policy solution, the quiet revolution, for wait-listed children. This workshop A.) Presents 5 public policy arguments for implementing autism specific PIM DRB services within state EI systems, B.) Describes how the ‘Ohio EI system implemented autism specific services statewide and C.) Overviews The PLAY Project parent coaching model which Ohio used for its PIM DRB program.
