Academic Coaching & Tutoring
I offer academic coaching to neurodivergent students of all ages who need help with study skills, time management, reading techniques, all types and levels of academic writing, public speaking and communication and more, and understanding your rights in relation to the ADA as well as appropriately communicating those needs to teachers and educators.
I am an ASD/ADHD doctoral candidate and published author who tailors each encounter to meet the student’s needs, support the cultivation of a healthy academic mindset as a neurodivergent student in a usually neurotypical classroom, and hold supportive space for the challenges that this experience can bring. I work with students to find out what works best for them where they are, taking time to discover how they best learn, especially in the identification of useful tools and techniques – often creating new techniques depending on what is most helpful for each individual. In all cases, the goal is to help the student develop their own talents and strengths toward the realization of their own goals. Instead of trying to fit into a neurotypical world, I believe in building neurodivergent education.
Sessions are held on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule, but can also be utilized for special projects, like term papers. Sessions are generally held via Zoom (I am located in the Northwoods of MN). Regular rates are $20, invoiced monthly, but alternate arrangements can be made in select cases depending on need.
To get started, please email me requesting a FREE consultation. During that time we’ll discuss your needs and goals, learning styles, and how I can best support you.
