Family to Family Grant Resources
With support from the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services Disability Services Division, AuSM is working with a group of partners offering an expanded set of culturally relevant opportunities to our community members. AuSM began supporting Somali Parent Autism Network (SPAN) and Multicultural Autism Action Network MAAN in 2022. This year, AuSM added three new partners, with work focused on providing support groups and resources directly to families of autistic individuals. Our new partners are Centro Tyrone Guzman, Maangaar Global, and SEWA-AIFW. In addition to programs directly in the community, AuSM is working with these culturally steeped partners to develop helpful multi-lingual resources, including videos and other informational guides, for families who may be new to the autism diagnosis and community, or who are managing persistent barriers to service.
